The Great Meme Migration of 2024: Where Did All the Doge Go?
✍️By Dr. Meme McMemerson📅December 8, 2024⏱️5 min read

Fellow meme archaeologists, we need to talk. 🐕

Something strange has happened to our beloved internet culture, and I'm not talking about the usual weirdness. I'm talking about the Great Meme Migration of 2024 - a phenomenon so bizarre that even the most seasoned internet veterans are scratching their heads in confusion.

Remember when "Much wow, very meme, such Doge" ruled the digital landscape? Those were simpler times, when a Shiba Inu with Comic Sans thoughts could unite the internet in collective joy. But somewhere between TikTok taking over and Gen Alpha discovering the internet, our memes evolved... or devolved, depending on your perspective.

The Rise of Abstract Memery

Today's meme landscape is dominated by concepts so abstract they make modern art look straightforward. "Ohio" has become synonymous with chaos. "Skibidi" has replaced actual words in sentences. And don't even get me started on whatever "gyatt" is supposed to mean.

Through extensive research (aka scrolling through TikTok for 6 hours straight), I've discovered that modern memes have transcended the need for actual meaning. They exist in a post-logic state where absurdity itself is the punchline.

The Doge Diaspora

But what happened to our beloved Doge? My investigation reveals that classic memes haven't disappeared - they've simply migrated to different corners of the internet. Doge now lives peacefully in cryptocurrency communities, Grumpy Cat has found eternal rest in boomer Facebook groups, and Rickrolling continues to thrive wherever unsuspecting victims click mysterious links.

Perhaps this is the natural evolution of internet culture. Each generation must create its own digital language, its own inside jokes, its own way of saying "this is fine" while everything burns around them.

So here's to the Great Meme Migration of 2024 - may our Doges find peace in their new homes, and may we all learn to appreciate the beautiful chaos of "Ohio" energy.

Much research, very confused, such is life.

Enjoyed this chaos? 🎉
